Girls XC comes in 16th

September 10, 2012
By Nick Holland of Southport High School

The girls cross country team placed 16th out of 20 teams at the Ben Davis Invitational this past Saturday, September 8.

Scoring for the Lady Cards were freshmen Delaney Bucker, Desiree Kinney and Caroline Chappell. Also scoring were sophomore Alecia Fredrick who posted the quickest time for the team and senior Taylor Zorman.

Head coach Mr. Nathan Fishel believes the team has a lot they can work on.

“We need to work on running more as a group,” he said. “If we keep training with this in mind then we will get there.”

The Lady Cards hope to push through this week in practice and begin to develop different habits so they can be more successful when they travel to compete in the Flash Rock Invitational this Saturday, September 15. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00 a.m. and will be held at Northview Christian Church in Carmel.

Come out and support your Lady Cards.
