Home » Cross Country Newsfirst meet recap, info etc.September 2, 2011 By Chad Cronin of East Ridge Cross CountryThanks for all the hard work for your first meet. Congrats to the girls' team for their 2nd (of 25 teams) finish. Also, the boys moved up the ranks from last year. Coach Ness, Coach Gramer and I will continue to emphasize that pacing strategy. Overall many runners are getting this. Great work. Now we have an actual race time to get your new pace. We will use this in practice. So, that was our team goal-- finding the pace and getting introduced or reintroduced to our race distance. We feel like this was a solid start and we will continue to work. Congrats to all finishers. Please refer to the calendar: practice on Sat. 9-10am. On Labor day, run on your own (or get together with teammates). This should be your long run. Please have a lock on Tuesday. Many runners have gotten locks on their athletic lockers at East Ridge. Thank you for the great communication for the few of you who rode home with your parents. Reminder: it is district policy that you ride the bus. In some circumstances (for instance one family was on their way to Iowa), you may go with parents provided I get it in writing. We are understanding of that. Again, unless you have a place your family needs to be, please ride the bus. Please be in communication with me if you know you will miss a meet. As soon as you know, please let me know. I enter the meets a week ahead of time. Take note of how you are doing this coming week regarding your eating schedule. Some of you have a very late lunch. We practice at 3:30. Buses for middle school students to practice are scheduled to begin on the first MONDAY of school (2nd week). Sometimes they get those worked out by the end of the first week. In any case, you need to have a bus pass from me. Next meet: St. Croix Bluffs. More info next week. Have a good weekend. See many of you at 9am Sat.
The race results are on the mtecresults link. If your name is not on the list, I have your time. On Tuesday, I will post all East Ridge times from this meet.
