Frankfort shut out Western Boone Wednesday night, 6-0. Adrian Cruz led the Hot Dogs (6-0, 2-0 Sagamore Athletic Conference) with two goals and one assist. Orlando Hernandez and Jessie Rodriguez both tallied one goal and one assist, and Corey Jakes and Christian Perez each scored one goal.
Twin Lakes 4, Rossville 0
Rossville was shut out by Twin Lakes, 4-0, on Wednesday.
GIRLS SOCCER
Sheridan 5, Frankfort 0
Frankfort struggled to get anything going offensively against Sheridan on Wednesday, losing 5-0.
VOLLEYBALL
Frankfort 3, Western 0
Mady Corrie and Ericka Ham both tallied 10 kills and four aces to lead Frankfort past Western, 3-0 (25-9, 25-14, 25-13) on Wednesday. Kaitlyn Emery paced the offense with 28 assists and five aces. Tania Olivas added seven kills and seven blocks, Mandi Boggs had two kills, Taylor Kirby seven digs and Whitney Schwartz six digs.
“We played well as a team this evening and stayed mentally tough to finish out the match without giving up many scoring runs,” said Frankfort head coach Kia Rushton.
The Frankfort junior varsity won its match, 2-0 (25-17, 25-19). Laina Boggs had nine kills, Jacenda Perry six kills, Mackenna Eldredge six kills, Paris Walker three kills and Taylor Dillingham 20 assists. Both Perry and Caitlyn Wood had serving runs with 10 serves each.
GIRLS GOLF
North Montgomery 166, Lebanon 184, Frankfort 231
Frankfort’s score of 231 placed the Hot Dogs third behind North Montgomery (166) and Lebanon (184) at Rocky Ridge Golf Course Wednesday. Rel Weber led the Hot Dogs with a 48. Whitney O’Brien carded a 56, Lauren King 62, Heather Hunter 65 and Kylie Strode 76.
7TH GRADE FOOTBALL
Frankfort 42, Tuttle 0
Malik King accounted for four touchdowns (two rushing, one kickoff return and one interception return) to lead Frankfort (1-0) to a 42-0 victory over Tuttle.
Kaleb Seibert ran for two touchdowns and also scored a successful conversion attempt. Drew Castillo and Andy Palmer also ran for successful conversions.
Linemen Jordan Ortiz, Angel Barrios and Jaccob Bitner led the defensive effort. Chance Coomer, Noah Dubree, Kody Hardesty, Kahner Huffer and Jesse Johnson added strong run support from the secondary.
MIDDLE SCHOOL TENNIS
Tuttle 4, Frankfort 1
Frankfort’s No. 1 doubles team of Dylan Smith and Nic Kinder was the Hot Dogs’ lone victor versus Tuttle on Wednesday, taking an 8-4 victory. Sammy Cheng lost, 8-1, at No. 1 singles; Isaac Grasham lost, 8-1, at No. 2 singles; Alex Smith lost, 8-1, at No. 3 singles; and JT Whitlock/Cole Reigle lost, 8-0, at No. 2 doubles.
JUNIOR HIGH CROSS COUNTRY
Bulldogs compete at Delphi
Clinton Central was one of five teams competing at Delphi on Wednesday. The Bulldogs had an incomplete team score in the girls’ race. Payten Kimmell was 20th (16 minutes, 20 seconds), Brogan Sheets 23rd (1743) and Baileigh Richie 24th (18:08).
The boys’ team finished fourth with 71 points. Key Taulbee was fourth (12:11), Colton Crum 11th (12:47), Jake Speitel 15th (13:08), Kaleb Boone 28th (15:04), Tallon Surber 36th (16:12) and Kade Perlee 41st (22:25).
