Home » Volleyball NewsRED DEVILS GET WI NSeptember 5, 2012 Richmond High SchoolRichmond volleyball is back at .500, but it didn’t come easily. Throw out the first set, and the Red Devils had a tight and tough tussle with Union County Tuesday night at Tiernan Center, winning 3-1 thanks to RHS snuffing out the Patriots’ latest rally. Sommer Lewis had 13 kills to lead Richmond, while Kiana Claiborne added eight in the 25-7, 25-23, 18-25, 25-23 victory for the Red Devils. “We came together and it was good to feel like a team coming together,” Claiborne said. Richmond has now won three straight, going back to last week’s victories over fellow Wayne County programs Northeastern and Centerville. “We’ve really improved on serving,” Claiborne said. “We’ve really improved on talking to each other. Those are the main things that we were focusing on.” Brooklyn Taylor was focused on the serving line against the Pats. It showed as she provided four aces and 33 serves, many of them coming during a stretch in Game 1 where the senior netted 13 straight service points.
