POLSON – Conner Williams scored a pair of second-half goals to carry Columbia Falls to a 3-1 win over Polson in a Northern A boys’ soccer match Friday afternoon.
It was the league opener for the Wildcats, who improved to 2-2-0 overall. Polson fell to 0-2-0 in league, 1-3-0 overall.
Polson got on the board first when Morgan Moll found the net off a feed from Jonah Kasmitz in the 36th minute.
But Columbia Falls knotted the match at 1-1 just before halftime when Casey Burghduff converted a pass from Chase Ramberg.
Williams got the game-winner in the 57th minute and netted an insurance tally three minutes later.
Polson plays Saturday at Whitefish while Columbia Falls hosts Libby.
