Home » Football NewsCardinals Week One Opponent Officially Named!May 15, 2012 By Chris Himonidis of Colerain High School/WeAreColerain.comEvery year, the Colerain faithful anxiously await the release of the Colerain football schedule to see what challenges await our Cardinals. Well, it's about that time that the mad scientists at the Skyline Chili Crosstown Showdown let the world know who our men from Colerain will battle in week one. Last year, the Cardinals gutted out a 17-7 victory over the 3-time defending State champion Cocoa High School Tigers. This year, the Cards will take on another set of Tigers as they battle the 2011 Ohio Division I State Runner-Up, Pickerington Central High School on Saturday August 25th at 5:30 PM at Nippert Stadium on the campus of the University of Cincinnati. This should be a great test for the Cards early as Pick Central is talented, fast, disciplined and well coached. After all, they managed to beat St. Xavier in the State Semi-finals last year.
