Home » Volleyball NewsCardinals Sweep Green BearsSeptember 18, 2012 By Chad Rutkowski of Cardinal Stritch Catholic High SchoolOttawa Hills, OH - After suffering their first TAAC loss of the season, the Cardinals had a little time over the Homecoming break to recover and reload for Ottawa Hills. Stritch came out very slow to start, nonetheless, the Cardianls prevailed in three straight sets, 25-18, 25-9, 25-25. Stritch was lead by Sara Turner-Smith (#7, Senior) with 9 kills and a hitting percentage of .400, Maggie Merren (#9, Freshman) with 7 kills and a hitting percetage of .500. Also contributing to the Cardinals offensive power were the two middles, Junior, Jennifer Trumbull, who had four kills, and Senior, Briyanna Axtell (moved from RS to Middle due to the injury of Ally Heyman) with four kills.
